Seaming & Finishing Knit Garments
A garment that has been beautifully seamed and blocked will elevate your knitting from homemade to handmade!
Instructor: Jax Lewis
Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced
Class: One - 2 hour class – TOTAL of 2 hours of instruction
Saturday Afternoon, March 11th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Class Format: In Person
Cost: $40.00
Class Size: Max 6 Students, Min of 3 Students required to run the class
Skills Required:
- Proficient in cast on & bind off
- Proficient in knit & purl stitch
- Proficient in reading stitches
- 18 years or older (we can discuss private lessons for younger students)
Skills Learned:
- Stockinette & Garter Seams
- Vertical & Horizontal Mattress Stitch
- 3 Needle Bind off
- Kitchener Stitch
Materials Needed Not Included in Class Fee:
We are a small business and ask that you purchase your class supplies from Finnegan's Run, at a 10% discount*. However, for this class if you have yarn from home you may use it.
Yarn Light Colored Worsted, Aran, or Chunky Weight Yarn (heavier yarn may make stitches easier to see)
Needle Size recommended for yarn
Other Scrap Yarn, Darning Needle, Locking Stitch Markers or Stitch Clips
Class Preparation: Prepare Class Swatches
- (2) 4”x4” or larger Stockinette bound off
- (2) 4”x4” or larger Stockinette - do not bind off (put on waste yarn)
- (2) 4”x4” or larger Garter – Bound off
NOTE: Bound Off swatches can be blocked to make it easier to see stitches & seam
Class Policy: Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of the first-class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless the instructor is unable to teach or the shop is closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes.
